Lt.Col Everett Stewert - 4th FG CO Pilot P-51D-20NA 44-72181 Pictured above on the left with Sunny VIII's ground crew. Stewart served from Pearl Harbor then the Pacific before finishing WW2 in the 'ETO' with a total of 9.33 kills.February 21, 1945, joined 4th FG February 21, 1945, Group and Station CO May 25, 1939, Commissioned an officer in the US Army December 7, 1941, Flew first combat in WWII at Pearl Harbor February 1941 - September 1942, In P-40 unit on Wake and Midway Islands December 1943, Transferred to 355th FG November 4, 1944, 335th FG CO 180 missions, 510 combat hours in WWII (280 in Pacific)

The North American P51D-20 served with the famous 4th Fighter Group in the USAAF in WW2. This unit had pedigree being formed out of the RAF Eagle Squadrons. These units had US airman fighting the Luftwaffe before the USA entered WW2. 44-72181 was assigned to the 366th FS, 4th FG on 21/02/45. Coded VF-S and named 'Sunny VIII'. The aircraft crashed on 29/05/45 on a ferry flight to Speke. 1st Lt. Fredericks the pilot. With focus on the PT-19 & G.46 progress is slow. The tail is coming togther in the jig, fuselage frames at station 200 & 248 are complete. The collection of spares & parts continues to grow.
